Jessica Fletcherwhy on earth is she even involved She is obnoxious and so so very recklessFletcherwhy on earth is she even involved She is obnoxious and so so very reckless her own life and with everyone else s around her as a result2 Poor Max Paige treated him awfully and if it had been the other way round and Paige was the manabusive aslighting and lovebombing would have been used in her dealing with Max3 Poor Ravshe treats him as bad as she treats everyone else Run Ravrun4 Sasha was a fairly interesting character in the last book and it actually highlighted how deaf social workers operate and the challenges they facePaige being her interpreter was really interesting and was looking forward to that aspectbut it turns out Sasha is a really abusive employerwho knew She was awful from start to finish Who treats people like thatI just cannot et my head around why Paige is even involvedlet alone why she constantly puts herself in danger and why she thinks she is so much better than everyone else Some of these traits were in the last book but they were so much apparent in book 3I was also really disappointed after the positive and hopeful ending of 2we were at exactly the same point or in fact further back 3 months later when at exactly the same point or in fact further back 3 months later when book picked upI was surprised and disappointed that the character development at the end of 2 and what she learnt in book 2was in fact rescinded and a majority of the time Paige behaves like a petulant childstamping until she ets her own wayIts so frustrating as this book has so many hallmarks of being Collections of Nothing great and Paige could be areat character if she wasn t so petulant and cavalier with her own life and literally everyones around her Why does she even care about Lukasz At the sake of her own life and everyone else s More than seeing Anna in pain or Rav or even SashaThe mystery this time was also very paint by numbersI figured out alot of it very early onand I m not Communism great at this stuffOverall I do enjoy the ideas behind the book and I like familiar charactersand the world building in these booksbut the execution of this one was frustrating than anythingit could bereat but Paige is really not very sympathetic in this one
and comes across as conceited and that she knows bestWill I read the next onecomes across as conceited and that she knows bestWill I read the next one I hope it has of the flashes of brilliance I saw in the previous one and I hope Paige becomes a rounded character instead of one who just does the same thing over and over againThanks to the author publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review The fire is burning The wife is inside The husband is deaf and unable to communicate to authoritiesYIKESTalk about throwing everything at you all at once My initial reaction was that this was How to Read the American City Close Up going to be relatively easy to process once the interpreter Paige arrived on sceneLittle did I know that this was a web of lies created on many fronts with a few random outside influences and some blazing romance embers still ignitedIf that doesn tet the juices flowing I m sure the thought this incident being connected to money or family in some way through insurance reasons may really stoke the flamesI cannot believe how this went from one suspect being arrested to the end result because it was wild to endure The ramifications rippled like waves throughout and was magnified when we learned of Luca s mother s passing years ea Thank you Avon Books UK and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest reviewOverall I enjoyed this novel and will recommend this book as a bookseller The mystery kept me Catholics, Anglicans, and Puritans guessing the whole way through The only thing I disliked was the continuous referencing of the previous Paige Northwood novels I liked the BSL part of it and amoing start to learn myself avonbooksuk netgalley mystery books bookbloggerss bookstagram. LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ONE Iforward to this one I there would be a lot of character development but it ended up being a hot mess And speaking of the next book I don t know how it s supposed to o Paige is not a detective she is just an interpreter she can t solve these crimes anyway but especially now when in puts others in crossfires As a reader of mysteries you re supposed to enjoy the investigating process but all I wanted here was for Paige to stop being so oddamn arrogant and just mind her own business So how is it entertaining when you want the so called investigator to stop investigating The next book better redeem the so called investigator to stop investigating The next book better redeem series Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review This is normally one of my Conversations with Nelson Algren go to authors and I really enjoy discovering about the deaf community I also learn from these books I dropped everything as soon as Iot the book to read To be fair did stay up late to read it as wanted to finish it But ot a bit frustrated with Paige this time around she wasn t developed as much as previously and just felt angry and obsessed with drinking I had worked out who the killer half way through the book and as all the clues pointed couldn t see why Paige couldn t see it Would have loved exploration of the other characters especially the victim s family even Sascha would have been ood Good book but the others in the series are better I was Contested Reproduction: Genetic Technologies, Religion, and Public Debate given an advance copy by netgalley and Avon books but the review is all my own This is the third in the series and I have to say every book has had me hooked desperate for We meet Paige again she is now working as a sign language interpreter for Social Worker Sasha and freelances for the local police She is dating Max who wants to take their relationship to the next levelPaige is drawn into a murder case involving one of Sasha s clients Lucas arrives home to find his house on fire and his wife Nadia murdered Lucas is arrested for the murder but his silence is making him lookuiltierPaige and Sasha are adamant that Lucas is innocent and start to investigate into Lucas s life to see what he is hiding I love Paige the way she throws herself into being an amateur detective even putting her own life at risk I do find myself screaming at her NO as she does not always think before jumping into dangerA series that I am hoping will continueThank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review Thanks to Netgalley and Publisher for this e ARC in exchange for an honest reviewThe synopsis made me reuest it on Netgalley I didn t know that it was the part of a series until I started to face a few flashbacks Though the main story is different there are different references from other books Paige is an interpreter who works for a social worker Sasha Lukas is Sasha s client who contacted Paige one day when his house is on fire and Nadia his wife is stuck inside Police suspect Lukas as the killer Paige is his interpreter so she has to be thereI like that author focused on sign language and psychology she also incorporated problems these people face in daily life I couldn t feel to any of the character the duo of Sasha and Paige was so irritating Sasha "was so unlikeable I didn t feel a thing for Lukas so naturally It was hard to " so unlikeable I didn t feel a thing for Lukas so naturally It was hard to with the story The writing style was also not my cup of tea there were way too many details for my test The ending was so boring and there ll be another book so It was kind of a loose end I was actually uite excited to read book 3 so soon after reading book 2I am so Cop Knowledge: Police Power and Cultural Narrative in Twentieth-Century America glad I didn t read this firstelse I never would have read another oneA few things1 Everything I hated about Paige was even.
