This is my second Megan Miranda book and I liked this one the best The cover grabbed my attention Lioness right awayThis book shows a small tight knit gated community on a lake that has a couple killed about two years prior Harper is the main character and owns a home in the community Her youngeroommate Ruby is charged with the death and serves 14 months until an early What Do Grown-ups Do All Day? release The neighbors all have cameras watching the neighborhood along with a neighborhood watch and endless speculationIt s truly a who done it to figure out why someone had done what they had doneThis book made me feel creeped out and totally weary of those around us It made meealize just how much our neighbors know about us and what they see and hear about our lives and Non Censure routinesSpecial thanks to Simon and Schuster and NetGalley for this ARC ARCeceivedThank you so much Simon Schuster I m excited to get to this one SUCH A UIET PLACEBY MEGAN MIRANDAAbout a 45 star Herrin der Schmuggler ratingSinceeading Megan Miranda s first breathtaking novel called All the Missing Girls she set the bar extremely high for herself and I think other fellow Hope and Glory reader s of this genre that haveead her books after that just might agree Such a uiet Place in my humble opinion comes in very close to her debut I don t eally know if when an author writes such an amazing first book if we just assume that every one written after that is supposed to be eually as excellent I know that I have ead each and every book after her debut and I think that this one is probably as close to her first one in living up to her wonderful imagination and her prowess of crafting a fantastic mysteryI Hysterie really enjoyed Such a uiet Place The narrative was seamlessly written and flowed giving us a taut and suspenseful plot We already know byeading the synopsis that Ruby s conviction has been overturned after nearly fourteen or fifteen months of her serving a prison sentence for a double homicide of the next door neighbor s to Harper who were Brandon and Fiona Truett They died of carbon monoxide poisoning in their house when their vehicle was left Der Flügel des Engels : Autobiogr., Selbstzeugnisse, Briefe an Jack Kerouac running in their garage and the inside door was left ajar Their dog barking in their back yard and the neighbor s all being an idyllic little community of cookie cutter houses were all shocked and Ruby who it seems wasesponsible So when Ruby comes waltzing back to the scene of the crime after being eleased she just walks ight back in to Harper s home without even knocking on the doorHarper was Ruby s old oommate moving in after Harper s boyfriend Aidan moved out unbeknownst to Harper that he was planning on moving out More than few of her neighbor s knew that Aidan was planning on moving out You can imagine the utter surprise when Ruby comes back uninvited and without any prior notice to the neighborhood including Harper Hollow s Edge is the neighborhood and most of the neighbor s work as Harper does for the School
System Their Is A
Their is a pool and a lake and an online community bulletin that the neighbor s post to that usually announces pool get together s neighborhood watches and gossipRuby spends no time at all barging back into Harper s home and the neighborhood at Hollow s edge uby takes harper s car the Edge Ruby takes Harper s car the day saying that she has an appointment with her lawyer and stays gone for over forty eight hour s but coming back with new clothes groceries and offers to make dinner Where did Ruby Love and Its Place in Nature: A Philosophical Interpretation of Freudian Psychoanalysis really go Can she be trusted that she did in fact meet with her attorney I got the impression that not all was what it appeared to be on the surface I kepteading this as there is something else that happens and among the many neighbor s there are many ambiguous vibes that permeate the many mysteries of the past and present I hope that the fans of Megan Miranda enjoy this latest offering as much as I did I do agree with the synopsis that this one is among her best so far There were many twists and turns and when it got dark I had all of the lights off in my house and I admit to being scared as I aced to the conclusion I didn t guess the ending although I did have an idea about Ruby s guilt or innocence but this novel didn t disappoint and kept me guessing as there is much suspense I do ecommend this highly and do think that fans of All the Missing Girl s will find this to be just as thrillingPublication Date July 13 2021Thank you to Net Galley Megan Miranda and Simon Schuster for generously providing me with my ARC in exchange for a fair and honest Triskell Tales: Twenty-Two Years of Chapbooks review All opinions are my own SuchauietPlace MeganMiranda SimonSchuster NetGalley Allight all Across the Wide and Lonesome Prairie right allight this book s straight intriguing opening and slow burn whodunnit style high tension premise hooked me at the beginning Since I ve Mein wildes Geheimnis 03 read the Missing Girls and huge endorsement of Reese Witherspoon book club I keen on enjoying Megan Miranda s writing style and devouring her gripping page turners but even though the premise picked my interest the execution of this slow burn thriller which uickly leads us to different suspects and confuses the hell of our minds didn t work well with me The idea of bunch of academicians or people who worked for the college inhabiting at a uite neighborhood fifty closely packed homes which are similarly designed modestly priced oriented toward the water named Hollow s Edge like a big connected family till two of them had been killed and one of them got convicted from the murder excited me a lot But I could not find anything about the characters perceptible to differentiate them from each other Mo. We had no warning that she’d come backHollow’s Edge used to be a uiet place A private and idyllic neighborhood where neighbors dropped in on neighbors celebrated graduation and holiday parties together and looked out for one another But then came the murder of Brandon and Fiona Truett A year and a half later Hollow’s Edge is simmering Theesidents are trapped unable to sell their homes confronted daily. .
St of them were so dull boring ordinary They were too boring suffering from lack of intelligence or charisma to be killer And at the end we got the eal eason why those uninteresting people couldn t be killers instead of irritating the hell of us At the beginning of the story we witness Ruby Fletcher s eturn to the neighborhood freshly out from prison appearing at her old condo saying hi to her oommate Harper Nash as if she wasn t convicted for killing Truett family Now her conviction is overturned and her so called lovely neighbors testified against her to put her behind the bars But surprise surprise Ruby is back And she is so determined to avenge making pay someone who tries to put blame on her Harper Nash who was 30 years old always seeing Ruby not only as her The Worst Weather on Earth: A History of Mount Washington Observatory roommate but her younger sister scares of her but she doesn t have guts to tell her move away Slowly Ruby starts to occupy her place t I was so excited toeceive this ARC I started A London Home in the 1890s reading it immediately Megan Miranda is a wonderful writer I ve onlyead a few of her books but I ll gladly snatch up her new ones without fully The Geology And Landscape Of Santa Barbara County, California, And Its Offshore Islands reading the synopsisThis uickead kept me up too late trying to figure out who dun it Can t wait for MM s next one A friendly group of neighbors for the most part find themselves devastated after Brandon and Fiona Truett are found dead The Truett s weren t the most popular neighbors but they weren t awful enough to warrant murderor maybe they were The cozy group of neighbors are even shocked when one of their own Ruby Fletcher is convicted of their murder But that s nothing compared to what comes next It s been about eighteen months and everyone has settled back into their familiar Biopower: Foucault and Beyond routines and feelings of security Then Ruby s conviction is overturned and sheeturns to her home as if nothing has happened Of course no one is welcoming or happy to see her but emotions Jane Doe and the Cradle of All Worlds really get shaken up when the motive for hereturn is Is That Even a Country, Sir! revealed She plans on finding out who theeal killer is and getting うそつきリリィ 3 [Usotsuki Lily 3] revenge on everyone who turned their back on her THERE WAS NO PARTY the day Ruby Fletcher came home We had no warning no time to prepare ourselves Ruby is so manipulative and unlikable but determined that it was fun toead about her Her determination and perseverance were admirable and I enthusiastically looked forward to her bold and eventful behaviorThank you to Edelweiss Megan Miranda and Simon Schuster for this free digital ARC in exchange for my honest opinionMy Rating 4 sPublished July 13th 2021 by Simon SchusterPages 352Recommend YesMeganLMiranda simonschuster edelweisssuad SuchAuietPlace NoRulesJustThrills InExchangeForReview BookReview BigTwist MustRead psychologicalthrillerMore on the AuthorWebsite MeganMirandacom Facebook FacebookcomAuthorMeganMiranda Twitter MeganLMiranda Instagram MeganLMiranda I ve come to expect good things from Megan Miranda I m yet to The Prince read her first but theest have been consistently good way above average in the ever popular genre that s heavily populated with average And yet this one kind of stretched those parameters Which is to say it was still good very A Bold Carnivore: An Alphabet of Predators readable lots of fun and appropriately twisted in all theight places but overall somehowless so Basically too thin of a plot gets hung up precisely on the tenterhooks of excellent writing and a savvy sociopsychological message This is a neighborhood thriller or to be precise a locked neighborhood thriller A small water adjacent enclave populated with people working in a local university not just neighbors but also coworkers and friends people tightly enmeshed in each other s lives some might say unnaturally so Everyone knowing each other s business watching judging stowing away secrets But uietly You know that thing Sartre said about other people Well anyway welcome to the neighborhood Idyllic well maintained well surveilled It s such a uiet place With such nice people in it Until a couple of them turns up dead in their own bed under mysterious circumstances and another one of the neighbors Ruby is arrested for it Ruby somehow gets convicted despite very thin and purely circumstantial evidence and no motive and serves fourteen months before her conviction is overturned upon which she Goodbye Sarajevo: A True Story of Courage, Love and Survival returnsight back to the neighborhood Lifting right back to herental share and Mathruhridayam right back to her alarmed and severely freaked out landladyfriend The latter is our narrator so you get her perspective which is essentially informed mostly by either passiveness or passive aggressiveness something uite popular in her neighborhood She s essentially much too nice to ask Ruby to go or even so much as say no to Ruby so the two of them play weirdly charged games with each other None of theest of the neighbors are happy about the situation but some are considerably less so than others The situation simmers boils and then boils over esulting in a tragedy Which is you know not great for property values after all how many dead bodies can one small place handle and all that So that s basically the story A bunch of thoroughly unpleasant people who think themselves to be the opposite do terrible things to each other for mostly all the wrong easons It s the tragedy of errors eally When you get to the end and Miranda hits you with THAT EXCELLENT TWIST YOU GOAH excellent twist you just goah fences get fences people

The Glories of Czestochowa and Jasna Gora: Miracles Attributed to Our Lady's Intercession
D lack of likeable characters it s especially noticeable The novel doesn t drag Miranda s too much of a pro for that in fact it eads very uickly it s just that it leaves you wanting than just a morality tale about a certain class and type of people But then again if that s all there is it s still plenty for a pretty entertaining ead And as always her plot twists are lovely and genuinely unguessable at least not all the way which is good because I was becoming too much of an expert armchair detective and missed being surprised So all in all good not great not author s best but a fun The March Up: Taking Baghdad with the 1st Marine Division read all the same Recommended Thanks Netgalley All the stars for this book that is just oozing with suspense and secretsHollow s Edge is a gorgeous subdivisionthe kind of place where everyone knows everyone and they all have freuent BBs holiday parties and pool parties together It s always been a safe communityUntil a little over a year ago when The Truetts a married couple were found murdered in their house Next door neighbor Ruby Fletcher was convicted of the murderPresent Day Harper Nash and theest of the community try to move on as best as possible Unfortunately none of them can sell their homes for profit with the murder still fresh in minds Harper actually lived with Ruby next door to the Truetts Now when Ruby s conviction is overturned on a technicality she comes back to the one place nobody ever expected to see her again Hollow s Edge More specifically Harper s house With uncomfortably thick tension in the air suspicious activity starts trending upward in the subdivision It appears that some neighbors were hiding secrets about the night of the murder Is there any chance Ruby is innocent of the crime And if so who is the Pimpinella Meerprinzessin 1: Ankunft im Muschelschloss (German Edition) real murdererDoes anybodyeally know their neighbors Such A uiet Place had me hooked from the first page It s suspenseful atmospheric and great fun The characters are all easy to keep track of and it gives off locked Das kurze Leben der Sophie Scholl room mystery vibes at times I could imagine the sweltering heat of the summer as well as the deceivingly uiet nights as the neighbors made theirounds for Neighborhood Watch The book also touches on mob mentality which I always find interesting and alarming There are some unexpected twists that I truly didn t expect I suspected each neighbor of wrongdoing at one point or another and ended up being pleasantly surprised by at least one aspect of the ending I don t think I could ve asked for I got vibes of early Louise Candlish here la The Swimming Pool and that is a positive I ve heard that author Megan Miranda can be a bit hit or miss This is only the 2nd book of hers that I ve Défendre Jacob read but you can definitely consider me a fan I already can t wait to see what she comes out with next Thank you to Simon Schuster who provided me with a physical ARC toeview and also provided me with digital ARCs via NetGalley and EdelweissI ead the physical copy and couldn t get over the gorgeous cover Expected publication date 71321 Review also posted at It took me a while
To Get Through Such
get through Such uiet Place I ve learned from past experience that you should ead every word carefully in a Megan Miranda thriller And yes I was Black Gold in North Dakota rewarded for my diligence I did suspect the killer just not the motive Everything was hiding in plain sight but despite all the clues aeader is still hard pressed to understand WHY the Truetts were killed Did a group of homeowners band together to wantonly implicate one of the esidents of homeowners band together to wantonly implicate one of the esidents she Nestle Toll House Recipe Collection really guilty Had Herd behavioresulted in false or tailored testimony that esolved the police investigation differentlyThe pacing of this story was an excruciating crawl with so many minor details coming at the eader that you started to suspect tons of Wicked City: The Other Side red herrings Turns out almost everyandom tidbit of information was important Even the action was on slow motion Officer, Surgeon…Gentleman! right up until the last chapter when suddenly everything sped up and happened at once As Harper summed up don t worry no spoilers here We d manifested fear Truth by mob I was worried that Harper was going to be the next target of the homeowners collective suspicionsThe ending was a jaw dropper and I was so glad finally to know the answer to the incessant uestion drumming in my head WHY WHY WHY I mating this one a 375 out of 5 Barefoot through Mauretania rounded up to a 4 because all the clues were THERE you just couldn t make heads or tails of them without that one vital item that pointed you in theight direction to the big AHA moment My thanks to the author publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest eview Definitely my favorite Megan Miranda book This Was An Intense Thriller With an intense thriller with and mystery The writing was perfect and the story pulled me in immediatelyRuby comes back to her neighborhood after being accused of murder She marches ight back into Harpers life who was her Eldest roommate before the murder and trial The neighborhood is suspicious of Ruby along with Harper who is set on finding out the truth I will definitely beecommending this book to everyone A solid thriller and Megan s best work yet Thanks to NetGalley and Edelweiss for my advanced ebook Thank you so much to Simon and Schuster and Megan Miranda for my ARC of Such a uiet Place I loved Miranda s last book so I couldn t wait to get my hands on this one There is just something about her writing that draws you in from the very first page This book was about Harper a woman who lives in a uiet community near a lake Her neighbors are also her colleagues at the college nearby. O the scene of the crime And how can she possibly turn her away when she knows Ruby has nowhere to goWithin days suspicion spreads like a virus across Hollow’s Edge It’s increasingly clear that not everyone told the truth about the night of the Truett’s murders And when Harper begins eceiving threatening notes she ealizes she has to uncover the truth before someone else becomes the killer’s next victi. ,
