Years f trying begins to change the day she attends her first prenatal class and meets Rachel an unpredictable single mother to be Rachel doesn’t seem very maternal she smokes drinks and professes little interest in parenthood Still Helen is drawn to her Maybe Rachel just needs a friend And to be honest Helen’s a bit lonely herself At least Rachel is fun to be with She makes Helen laugh invites her confidences and distracts her from. This book made me want to shout Modern Love out loud at the characters for not seeing that Rachel was beyond creepyA brilliant dark and twisted thriller Greenwich park startsff fairly sedately with some good character introductions and a hint at their backstories and friendly interactions and then suddenly the pace rockets and both the characters and the story take Bad Day in Blackrock off at a tremendous rateEdgef the seat stuff and an amazing debut I look forward to from Katherine in the hopefully not too distat future Thoroughly enjoyed this impressive addictive debut thriller I binge read it ne weekend lots f brilliant twists and turns which kept me gripped to the final page Very well written Hugely recommend Thank you to Raven Books for the early proof copy Greenwich Park by Katherine Faulkner is about pregnant Helen who meets the uirky Rachel at her antenatal class Despite being heavily Rachel drinks and smokes and although Helen t uite agree with this laidback lifestyle she ends up befriending Rachel as her husband and pregnant sister in law never seem to have much time for her Slowly Rachel seems to fully ingratiate herself into Helen s life and Helen can t uite see how to escape her Alongside the main story is the minor narrative The Real Deal of Katie a journalist covering a rape trial Katie happens to be dating Charlie Helen s younger brother From the first few chapters Faulkner draws you in to this suburban family and you just know there is hidden depths and dark secrets bubbling beneath the surface Helen has a glorious house currently under renovation and you can t help but see the parallels between the house and those inside where cracks are beginning to show themselvesThe chapters are uite short and that helps increase the pacef the story I found myself eagerly reading just ne chapter to the point where d myself eagerly reading just ne chapter to the point where I d Caste over pages before I even realised Of course by then I was at the pointf no return and just HAD to see how this narrative played The World's Sexiest Bedrooms out The characters are well developed with just enough back story to add weight to the current timeline without weighing it down The feelingf unease and suspense is trickling throughout the story before being released in a flood near the end as the narrative comes to an explosive conclusion This was a fantastic debut and Win Bigly one that highlights themesf wealth privilege family honesty truth justice betrayal and motherhood This was a fast and fun read with a sense that something bad is getting ready to happen almost the whole way through It centers Deal Breakers on Helen who is heavily pregnant with her first child after having a seriesf miscarriages She meets Rachel at a pre natal class and gets sucked into Rachel s vortex without ever really making the decision to be friends with her The book gives great insight into those dynamics as well as Helen s relationships with her husband brothers and her brothers wives and girlfriends There are a lot Death Note One-Shot Special (Death Note, Chapter of characters but it s not hard to keep everyone straight and it was fascinating to read about their shared history that ends up pulling the whole story together by the end I did find myself frustrated with Helen who should probably have learned to stand up for herself at this stage in her life but I also felt sorry for her as secrets came to light I had all kindsf ideas about what was really going The Lynching of Emmett Till on but the ending threw me for a loop when it was all revealed There are some pieces that I kindf figured Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky (Tristan Strong out but I was legitimately surprised by the biggest secret The author did a great jobf tying up loose ends and pulling it all together by the end I feel like this is a book that will stick with me and I d recommend it to those who like psychological thrillers Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy The Bird Photography Field Guide: The Essential Handbook for Capturing Birds with your digital SLR (English Edition) of this book in exchange for an honest review 45Helen has it allDaniel is the perfect husbandRory is the perfect brotherSerena is the perfect sister in lawAnd Rachel Rachel is the perfect nightmareWhen Helen finally pregnant after yearsf tragedy attends her first antenatal class she is expecting her loving architect husband to arrive soon after along with. “Meticulously crafted and deeply satisfyinga first class psychological thriller” Charlotte Philby author موسوعة نينورتا التاريخية - قصة الخلق of Partf the Family A twisty whip smart debut thriller as electrifying as the #1 New York Times bestseller The Girl Answering Mormons Questions on the Train about impending motherhood unreliable friendship and the high pricef keeping secrets Helen’s idyllic life handsome architect husband gorgeous Victorian house and cherished baby n the way after.
